Lukeville is the border between USA and Mexico. Once you cross the border, you will be in Sonoita, Mexico. At this time, distances change from miles to kilometers.
Continue on the main road for approximately 1.8 miles. You will arrive at a two-way intersection with a STOP sign. (The STOP sign will have ALTO on it, which means "stop" in Spanish. You'll know it's a STOP sign though, because it's an eight-sided red sign.) You will be able to see a monument and see signs for PTO Peñasco and Santa Ana to the left. Make a left at the STOP sign, and then bear right. Follow the signs to PTO Peñasco.
Stay to the right towards Puerto Peñasco/Caborca at the Y on the road. There is a traffic light soon after you bear right. Continue straight at this traffic light to Mexico Highway 8.
Once you have gone through Sonoita, continue on Highway 8 from Sonoita to Puerto Peñasco (60 miles). Along the way, there is a sign that says El PTO Peñasco. DO NOT turn at this sign.
You will still be traveling on Highway 8 as you're approaching Puerto Peñasco. Just before town, there will be a sign that reads Laguna Del Mar. You will turn right at this sign, and then you'll be traveling on the new federal highway. Follow the signs for Laguna Shores. It will be approximately 4 miles to Laguna Shores from Highway 8. On the way, you will cross a railroad track, and just after crossing the track, turn right. Continue to Laguna Shores.
